Why Tasmania?
Because the summer light in Northern Tasmania is crystal clear and lasts from early morning to well into the evening, allowing for those extra special additional hours of painting and sketching with a glass of your favourite aperitif.
Summer days are rarely too hot and the humidity is something that is rarely thought of.
In short, it’s the perfect time to be out painting the landscape. We want you to join us and stay in places we love as artists for their uniqueness, grandeur, heritage and superb hospitality.
Paint and Dine in one sitting
Food, glorious food. Featuring the best that Tasmania has to offer: sometimes on location (we prepare glamp-style picnic banquets while you paint) and sometimes in acclaimed local restaurants with award winning Tasmanian wines.
Our aim is to curate your journey to best allow you to absolutely focus on your work, whilst enjoying beautiful, interesting, and stunning locations in Northern Tasmania.
Not only do we provide the opportunity to paint en plein air during the day, we also provide studio space in the evenings to continue your creative journey.
Do we teach you?
Well, we can if you would like us to. However, our main aim is to give you all the focused time you need to do your thing. We offer you the support you need by taking care of your travel locations, accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, coffee, wine and chocolate and even the provision of easels, working tables and chairs, as and when you need them. We organise all of it to make your days flow easily.
Don’t want to fly home with wet canvases or paintings. Forget something?
Then talk to us ... we are happy to get works ready to return to your studio or gallery.
Do you want a friend to join but they don’t paint?
No problem. Friend and partner itineraries can be organised on request. We have great golf courses, unique shopping locations, galleries, historic townships, swimming spots, world renowned fishing sites, and Meander Valley's famous short walks or longer walks in the Great Western Tiers.
If a partner is joining you please talk to us about accommodation options.
Are you an Artist but not a painter?
No problem. We have curated a collection of spaces, places, people and vistas, food and fun. How you want to enjoy them is up to you.
We have designed the tours for professional and amateur artists working in any medium, but we are also happy to welcome writers, poets, photographers and any creatives looking for inspiration.
Northern Tasmania is home to The Great Lakes District, and three sparkling rivers – Meander, Mersey and Liffey. It encompasses the verdant Meander Valley with its historic townships of Deloraine, Carrick and Westbury, and also includes historic Evandale, the heart of “Glover Country”, which hosts the prestigious Glover Art Prize in March each year. It is also home to Tom Roberts's final resting place.
Our base town of Deloraine is recognised as one of Australia’s Creative Communities, attracting artists and musicians from around the world. It is loaded with character and characters.
Our aim and commitment is to ensure you have the optimum time and place for painting in good company with like-minded people, access to pristine landscapes and great food and accommodation!

We are grateful to live and work in nipaluna, lutruwita, the ancient land belonging to the muwinina and palawa people, who nurtured this place for tens of thousands of years. We offer our respect to elders, past, present and emerging, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
